i'm sitting here, at the keyboard, window to my right
the papergirl, faithful in her delivery these past 3 years,
had a friend with her today, smiling,
napolean dynomitish -- holding her hand.
maybe soon, she will pass the torch on this route.

misty-eyed, i was reminded of this photo,
taken almost 2 years ago now;
reminded that older son now holds hands
with a girl who makes him smile
